Update 07/16/2019 10:18pm:
Footage of Tay-K in the courtroom on the first day of his trial on Tuesday (July 16) was released by the Star-Telegram. It was revealed that Tay-K, is facing life in prison with the chance of parole after 40 years, as he is being tried as an adult for capital murder in the botched robbery that led to the death of Ethan Walker.
The 21-year-old was shot and killed during a home invasion, and Megan Holt testified on Tuesday that Tay-K recruited the man who shot Walker. Holt said she texted Tay-K and told him, "Hey, we need straps because we got a lick," as herself and Ariana Bharrat and a juvenile conspirator planned to rob Walker's roommate, Zachary Beloate, who was dating Bharrat.
Holt added that Tay-K recruited three friends- Latharian Merritt, Sean Robinson, and Jalen Bell for the robbery. She added that Merritt had a .40-caliber Glock with an extended clip on it when he arrived at the apartment for the robbery, while Sean Robinson had a .38-caliber gun and Jalen Bell had brass knuckles. As for Tay-K, Holt said, "He was kind of scared. He wanted to make sure that his friends had his back if something was to go wrong because he was walking in there unarmed. Scared isn’t the right word. Maybe a little nervous. Unsure."
On Monday, Tay-K pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery by threats in the robbery of Walker’s girlfriend and another man inside the home. If convicted of capital murder, McIntyre would automatically be sentenced to life in prison with the chance of parole after 40 years.
