Cardi B shared a clip of her conversation with Sen. Bernie Sanders and the pair discussed the issue of wage stagnation. Cardi asked the senator about his plan to increase workers' wages as the cost of living in America rapidly increases. In addition to the piece of legislation he's already presented to the Senate to increase the federal minimum wage to $15, Sanders told Cardi that he's willing to support labor unions as they collectively bargain for higher wages and benefits with private companies and corporations.

Cardi B announced to her legion of followers that she was intrigued by the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign after reading up on him and has thrown her support behind his 2020 run. The two met up for a filmed conversation about climate change, student loan debt, and racial justice among other topics that the Sanders' campaign hopes will appeal to younger voters.
When asked about the significance of having Cardi B work with his campaign, Sanders stated: "What it means is that, what Cardi B does is not only is she an enormously popular entertainer what she is doing is speaking to young people about the important issues that are on their minds and I applaud that very much."
Cardi was clearly grateful for the opportunity, writing in part on Instagram "Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country."
