According to reports, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck revealed that he is retiring at the age of 29. Luck reportedly was contemplating the move for some time, as he had been dealing with injuries over the years.

It was noted that Luck suffered injuries that included a lacerated kidney that left the player peeing blood, a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, a partially torn abdomen, and more.

Andrew Luck was the highest-paid player in NFL history when he signed his contract extension in 2016, and would have made more in his next contract. However, ESPN reported that Luck was “mentally worn down.” Luck earned over $97 million with the Colts but may owe the team $28.4 million if they decide to go after the money they’re allowed to recoup.
