Grammy-winning songwriter LaShawn Daniels passed away after being involved in a car accident, according to his wife, April Daniels. April made the announcement on her Instagram page, writing, "It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member, and friend LaShawn Daniels, who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina."
Daniels had an impressive career that spanned two decades and included working with artists like Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Brandy Norwood, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, George Michael, the Spice Girls, 50 Cent, and Tamar Braxton. He won a Grammy for Best R&B Song in 2001 for his songwriting work on "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child. He was also nominated for the same category in 2014 for "Love and War" performed by Tamar Braxton.
