Reports noted that the jury had been deliberating since Monday afternoon, and Botham Jean’s sister and mother could be seen crying during the verdict announcement.

Former Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger was found guilty of murdering her neighbor, Botham Jean, after thinking he was an intruder when she mistakenly entered his apartment last year. She faces a maximum of life in prison.
This comes after jurors began deliberations on Monday (September 30) following a week-long trial. Guyger stated during the trial, "I never wanted to take an innocent person's life. I'm so sorry. This is not about hate — it's about being scared."
