A video of a teenage boy being bullied and beat up by several students at Baltimore's Bluford Drew Jemison Academy West Middle/High School quickly went viral earlier this month. The video, which may be hard for some to watch, shows the bullies telling the young boy to put his glasses away before they start hitting him. After dodging some of the hits, the boy walked out of the bathroom.

The video caught the attention of local boxers, who tracked down the boy to show him support and take a stand against bullying. The situation hit home for Malik Hawkins, a young boxer at Upton Gym who just signed with Floyd Mayweather’s Money Team Promotions.

Hawkins stated, "Growing up as a kid, I was the kid getting bullied. And for me, to see someone else getting bullied, it really hurt my heart. Anger, that’s the only way I can describe it. It was anger. At first, I wanted to do something to them, but I’m like, nah." Hawkins and other local boxers have taken the boy under their wing and they're offering mentoring and also boxing lessons.
