Dwyane Wade recently made an appearance on Ellen and spoke to the host about his 12-year-old coming out to him and his lady Gabrielle Union. Wade said the 12-year-old decided to go by the name Zaya and also made it know they want to be referred to by her/she pronouns.
Wade said, “So once Zaya, our 12-year-old, came home and said, ‘Hey, I want to talk to you guys. I think going forward. I’m ready to live my truth. I want to be referenced as she and her, I would love for you guys to call me Zaya.’” From there, Gabrielle Union posted a video of Dwyane with Zaya, who was discussing the recent announcement.
