Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau announced many measures being taken to ensure that the coronavirus did not spread any further. One of those measures included closing the Canadian border to non-citizens.

During the press conference, Trudeau clarified himself, saying, “Let me be clear, if you’re abroad, you should come home. If you’ve just arrived, you must self-isolate for 14 days.” The border will be closed to non-citizens as well as anyone who doesn’t hold permanent residence status. U.S. citizens are exempt from this, and the closing will not apply to cargo transportation and commercial freight transportation needed to conduct business. Watch above.
