Update 03/18/2020 3:16pm:

During a White House press briefing on Wednesday (March 18), President Trump was asked by a member of the press why he keeps referring to the coronavirus as the "Chinese Virus."

He defended his choice of term for the virus and denied that it is racist, stating, "It's not racist at all. No, not at all. It comes from China, that's why. It comes from China. I want to be accurate." Trump then added that Chinese government officials "tried to say at one point — maybe they stopped saying now — that it was caused by American soldiers." He added, "That can’t happen. It’s not going to happen. Not as long as I’m president."
