Protests have sprouted up across the country to reopen the economy and allow people to return to work and social life. Pittsburgh was the site of the "Take Back Control" rally which saw roughly 120 protesters take to the city's downtown area where they honked car horns and displayed signs expressing discontent with the stay-at-home order.
What caught the attention of many people on social media were the armed protesters that attended the event. The armed civilians paraded around the rally with loaded assault rifles but no incidents were reported. The armed protesters were part of the organization, Iron City Citizens Response Unit which many are speculating, based on the group's insignia, that they have ties white nationalism. When a local reporter asked an Iron City member about the group's insignia and the white nationalist symbolism, he said, "Do your research," before calling the reporter a communist.
