According to reports, a homeless man in Tennessee was arrested after attacking a married couple at a Public Storage on Saturday with a machete. Kelvin Edwards, 35, reportedly entered the office area of the Public Storage and immediately began attacking Kevin Craft, 55, and Leanne Craft, 50, and continued slashing the couple even after they fell to the floor.
When authorities arrived on the scene, Edwards willingly surrendered and told officers that he was homeless and angry about his inability to secure a spot in the Rescue Mission. Metro Nashville Police wrote in a statement, “The investigation … shows that Edwards, who is homeless, had a bin at Public Storage, which apparently contained the machete,” adding, "Edwards spoke of his anger over the COVID-19 shutdowns and his inability to get into the Rescue Mission. It appears Edwards retrieved the machete from his bin and explained that he decided to demonstrate his anger in the violent attack on the Crafts, who he did not know.”
