This past weekend has been a wild one for Doja Cat, as the artist was accused of past racism after videos of her in a video chat with alt-right racists surfaced. Along with that, tweets where the artist seemingly valued whiteness over being black surfaced. Since then, she’s apologized, but now more footage of Doja Cat has surfaced.
In the footage that surfaced, which appears to be from a past Instagram Live session, Doja Cat can be heard speaking negatively about 4c texture hair—a texture of hair that many black women have. While many women deal with the issues surrounding taking care of that texture of natural hair, the timing of this clip doesn’t help the case of the artist who created a song called “Dindu Nuffin,” which is a term used by KKK grand wizard David Duke.
