Previously, news surfaced that YNW Melly associate YNW Bortlen was being granted a $75,000 bond and house arrest this past week. His trial is set for July 2. However, that same gesture hasn’t been extended to YNW Melly, who was previously denied an early release despite contracting COVID-19. Now, the lawyer representing the family of Christopher Thomas Jr., John M. Phillips commented on the state of Melly’s freedom and said fans who think the rapper will be released prison soon are “delusional.”

Via Twitter, a fan replied to Phillips’ tweet about YNW Bortlen being granted a bond, saying, “One down next will be Melly it’s just a matter of time.” Phillips responded by saying, “The Melly fans thinking he’s getting released are beyond delusional. He’s not getting released unless a jury says so, and there is evidence he killed these young men in cold blood. Whether you like his music or not, these families deserve justice.” Stay tuned for more details in this situation.

*This article previously reported that attorney John M. Phillips represented YNW Bortlen. That information was not factual. John M. Phillips does not and has never represented YNW Bortlen.
