Protests have erupted around the country after George Floyd was killed by now-former Minneapolis police officer David Chauvin, who kneeled on Floyd's neck until he was unresponsive. A video out of Portland shows rioters breaking into the Louis Vuitton store and reportedly stealing over $85,000 worth of bags, including a $4,350.00 City Streamer MM bag.
The Apple store, Starbucks, H&M clothing store, and Capital One were among the other stores that were looted at the same mall. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler addressed the looting in the city, stating, "Burning buildings with people inside, stealing from small and large businesses, threatening and harassing reporters. All in the middle of a pandemic where people have already lost everything. This isn’t calling for meaningful change in our communities, this is disgusting."
