Allie's Donuts in North Kingstown, Rhode Island has been the subject of threats from law enforcement after ending their shop's discount for cops amid the nationwide condemnation of violent policing. Due to concerns of his employees, shop owner Matt Drescher said in an Instagram video that he's the only person working right now. He said that once his business made it clear that they stood in solidarity with those against racist and violent policing, several employees began receiving threats.

"Due to all of the unfortunate threats that we've gotten and just the climate that it is, a lot of the employees don't feel safe working here right now," said Drescher. "I respect their choice, and they're safe at home. Nothing has happened to their job," adding, "I'm here right now, have the mixes on the table and I'm going to make as many [donuts] as I can."

An earlier post from the Allie's Donuts account said with regard to repressive policing, "We're fed up," adding, "Until local police take action to solve problems with racism and injustice, Allie's Donuts will choose to stand with the people of our great state."
