According to an interview via the New York Times, the family of one of the officers involved in the murder of George Floyd—J Alexander Kueng, want him in prison.

Kueng’s mother—Joni Kueng, spoke to NY Times and said she thought her son joining the police would bring diversity to the Minneapolis Police Department. Kueng noted her son reportedly saw his sibling arrested by police and did wrong. Joni Kueng went on to say that she and her family have been upset ver her son being arrested and charged for his part in George Floyd’s death.

Joni Kueng went on to reveal that her son’s siblings—Taylor and Radiance, joined the social injustice protests and also feel their brother, along with the other police officers, should be thrown in jail. Radiance took to social media and said her brother’s role in Floyd’s death “Just broke my heart.” She also said she is planning on cutting ties with her brother and changing her last name as well.

According to reports, another one of the four Minneapolis officers involved in the death of George Floyd has been released on bail. J. Alexander Kueng, 26, posted bail on Friday shortly after 7:30 PM. Court documents show that Kueng's bail was set at $750,000. 

Kueng is the second officer to be released after Thomas Lane posted the $750,000 last week. Tou Thao, the third officer charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter is still being held in jail on $750,000 bail.

Derek Chauvin remains in jail with his bail set at $1.25 million. Chauvin faces charges of second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. All four men could serve up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
