In this clip, Anthony Hamilton talked about being tapped to sing at church around the age of 7 and said admitted he was uncomfortable by the spotlight. He spoke about his experience being part of an award-winning choir in high school and recounted the pressures of transitioning from gospel to secular music.
Anthony then recounted meeting producer Mark Sparks in 1992 and how that encounter changed his life. Anthony spoke about moving to New York City with Mark as the two pursued a record deal and how he eventually signed with Uptown Records. Anthony detailed being an opening act for Jodeci and earning their respect after killing his set following a night where they performed before him instead.
