Update 07/09/2020 11:11pm:

After going missing while on a boating trip with her young son, actress Naya Rivera is presumed dead according to authorities who are now approaching this as a recovery mission as opposed to one of rescue. "We're presuming that an accident happened and we're presuming she drowned in the lake," said Deputy Chris Dyer during a press conference on Thursday.

Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Donoghue said during a separate presser that Rivera's body could never be recovered if it is entangled in something underwater. "Our hearts and our prayers and thoughts go out to the Rivera family. This is a terrible tragedy for all of them and we hope to bring closure for that family," Donoghue concluded.

Authorities released surveillance footage showing Rivera and her son as the only two people getting on the boat.
