According to reports, Bryshere Gray, known for his starring role as "Hakeem Lyons" on the hit TV show Empire, was arrested on domestic violence charges after beating his wife and a subsequent standoff with Arizona police. The Goodyear Police report, "The woman had flagged down a citizen for help moments earlier at another nearby gas station stating that she had been assaulted at her Goodyear home for the last several hours by her husband. The citizen then drove the victim to the Circle K and called 911. The victim told police her husband was Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV series 'Empire.'"
After police arrived at the couple's home, Gray would not exit the residence. The actor barricaded himself inside the residence prompting Goodyear SWAT and Negotiations to be called to the scene. After an hours-long standoff, Gray surrendered and was booked at Maricopa County Jail. Gray is accused of aggravated assault (strangulation), assault (domestic violence), and disorderly conduct.
