--------
In this clip, Richie Rich speaks about being signed to Def Jam and having a great relationship with Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen from the start. He spoke about releasing his album "Seasoned Veteran" on the label, which featured his hit single, "Let's Ride." When he was finished with his sophomore album, Lyor and Russell told him about Def Jam merging with PolyGram, and they offered him the chance to stay or leave with his album and $100,000. Fearing that he would be stuck and his album shelved, Richie Rich left and released "The Game" independently. He went on to speak about not taking his music career as serious as he could have, which you can hear more about above.
