According to reports, Shawn McClinton, 39, was recently bailed out of jail on rape charges and is already back in police custody after allegedly raping and kidnapping a woman. McClinton was arrested on charges of aggravated rape, and armed kidnapping with sexual assault after a woman told police she was held against her will at knifepoint, forcing her to perform oral sex on him.
Authorities say the woman was taken to McClinton's home on Tuesday after the two met in Quincy, MA. She alleged that McClinton became hostile after she attempted to leave his home on Wednesday and was accused of being an undercover cop. The Level 3 sex offender then allegedly strangled and forced the woman to perform oral sex.
Despite McClinton's shotty record with 1994 and 2007 rape convictions, the 39-year-old was posted bail three weeks ago through the help of the Massachusetts Bail Fund. Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said, “We’re getting to a point in society where we’re giving more credence to criminals than victims,” adding, "we’re talking about violent offenders. Why would you bail someone who committed rapes?”
McClinton is due back in court Sept. 4.
