The team formerly known as the Washington Redskins have been dealing with their own internal shifts after changing the offensive name of their team. Reports surfaced, noting the team has hired Jason Wright as the team president. This is also huge because this makes Wright the first Black team president in NFL history.
The shift is major because Washington has been without a team president since 2019 after Bruce Allen was fired. Wright spoke on the move, saying, “This team, at this time, is an ideal opportunity for me. The transformation of the Washington Football Team is happening across all aspects of the organization -- from football to operations to branding to culture -- and will make us a truly modern and aspirational franchise. We want to set new standards for the NFL."
Wright will reportedly focus on the business side of the organization, which will include marketing, sales, and operations.
