Update 08/18/2020 9:08am:

C-Murder shared a message with fans on his Instagram page to address Kim Kardashian assembling a team to try and get his 2009 conviction overturned. He is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted in the 2002 fatal shooting of a 16-year-old fan at a Louisiana nightclub. However, in recent years, eyewitnesses have recanted their testimonies,  there is evidence in question, and jurors were allegedly pressured to vote guilty.

C-Murder reacted to Kim vowing to work on his case, writing, "7 months ago I called @monicadenise & she conferenced in @kimkardashian ! I did not know [Monica] had been working to reach Kim. After our call for the first time in 19 years, I slept!! You can rest behind these walls but never do you actually sleep! My case had been stagnant for years! So I published multiple books to help feed my kids & pay lawyers bare minimum! I am a man so it was no one’s responsibility to save me & no one attempted to! But when you trust God he will send his angels! This message is To any man or woman fighting the injustices of the system , DONT EVER GIVE UP!!! And do as I am. Focus on the Blessings, Not the Betrayals!"

In recent years, Kim Kardashian has become known for her work with inmates, mainly helping to free convicts who were wrongly imprisoned. Now, Kardashian has taken to Twitter to reveal that she has gathered a team to take on the task of freeing No Limit Records star C-Murder, who many have been saying was imprisoned for a murder he did not commit.

On Twitter, Kardashian laid out the details of Corey “C-Murder” Miller’s case and noted Miller was arrested for the murder of Steve Thomas the day after the incident. She pointed out that since Miller’s trial for the murder, “witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict.”

Kardashian-West acknowledged the family of the man who was murdered—Steve Thomas, and said: “I can only imagine how hard this is and my intention is never to open up this painful wound but to help find the truth behind this tragedy.” Take a look above.
