Update 08/25/2020 9:03am:
Recently, news was revealed that a man named Pasquale “Paddy Duke” Raucci was fired from Hot 97 after it was noted that he was one of the suspects in the case of Yusuf Hawkins. The Yusuf Hawkins incident was covered in HBO’s ‘Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn,’ and discussed the details of the young Black man being fatally shot by a mob of white men. Now, Ebro of ‘Ebro In The Morning’ addressed the situation and issued an apology after the firing of Raucci.
Ebro offered an apology and gave some details on the matter, saying, “Corporate started to go to work to find out who knew what, when Paddy was hired and what was going to be the response because this wasn't going to be allowed to fly. The realization is that this couldn't be swept under the rug, obviously, so he's been fired.”
From there, Ebro admitted that he knew about Raucci’s link to the Yusuf Hawkins murder. Ebro said, “He told me that he got swept up in the Yusef Hawkins situation. He also told me he didn't have nothing to do with it. This was—it had to have been more than 8, 10 years ago. I didn't know that he had a misdemeanor 'cause he did get charged with a misdemeanor, and I didn't know that his record had been expunged." Watch above.
