Jacob Blake's father revealed an update on his condition after he was shot in the back by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Sunday (August 23). His father revealed to the Chicago Sun-Times that Jacob is paralyzed from the waist down and he has "eight holes" in his body, though it was believed that the police fired seven shots at him as he turned to get in his car. Jacob's father then stated, "What justified all those shots? ... What justified doing that in front of my grandsons? What are we doing?"
It was revealed that Jacob's partner and their 3 children were in the back seat of the vehicle when police shot him, and they are reported to be severely traumatized by what they saw. While an initial video made it unclear as to why police fired at Jacob, it appears that he was involved in a tussle with the officers before getting up and walking around to the driver's side, where he was shot.
