According to reports and video footage, the Department of Corrections building in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was burned down to the ground. This was one of many buildings set on fire as a result of protests that took place due to the shooting of Jacob Blake by police.
29-year-old Jacob Blake was revealed to be in serious condition after police fired seven shots into his back. Many took to the streets on Monday night to protest the shooting, but the protests allegedly turned into many buildings and businesses along 60th Street in Kenosha being lit on fire.
Governor Tony Evers put a curfew in effect from 8 p.m Monday into Tuesday at 7 a.m. The curfew was supposed to be enforced by the National Guard, but people reportedly remained outside of the Kenosha County Courthouse after the curfew. This led to police reportedly firing rounds of tear gas at the crowd to get them to disperse. This led to clashes between protesters and police, with many businesses catching significant damage as a result. Take a look above.
