Previously, Kanye West was sued by a Black business owner in a $20 million lawsuit. The company claimed that West used its technology during his ‘Sunday Service’ performances, but went back on a $10 million investment for the company. Now, West is reportedly facing more trouble on his journey to becoming President, as the rapper has not filed campaign finance forms with the Federal Election Commission.

The rapper filed a statement of candidacy in July 2020 and reportedly has secured spots on ballots in nine states so far, despite being denied for many, including his home state of Illinois. Since then, a monthly campaign finance filing was supposed to be submitted with the Federal Election Commission on August 20 for West’s campaign. However, the rapper and his team still haven’t submitted the paperwork, which is required of all presidential candidates who plan to spend or raise $100,000 or more on their campaign.

Paul S. Ryan—head of litigation at the Common Cause group, said, “He’s either violating the reporting requirements or doesn’t anticipate to spend $100,000 or more on his presidential campaign, and the latter part seems unlikely. He’s missed an FEC reporting deadline on August 20 and is in [likely] violation of the law.” News of this comes after Republicans were linked to Kanye West’s attempt to get on the 2020 presidential ballot.
