Previously, Kanye West and his presidential campaign were accused of using deceptive practices in Virginia to garner petition signatures so that he could get on the ballot in the state. Now, it seems the rapper’s journey on his attempt to run for president has been causing him more issues as he is reportedly suing Wisconsin after being rejected from the state’s ballot.

The rapper and his team reportedly filed a lawsuit in Brown County that asked the local court to allow him and running mate Michelle Tidwell to be placed on the presidential ballot for November 2020. This comes after the Wisconsin Elections Commission denied the rapper’s petition in a 5-1 vote after he missed the deadline to file papers to be on the Wisconsin presidential ballot by only a matter of minutes.

Kanye West and his lawyer are arguing the deadline to submit a petition actually expires at 5:01 p.m. According to The Hill, the WEC noted West’s submission arrived 14 seconds after the 5 p.m. deadline.
