Cardi B's decision to file for divorce from her husband Offset has been one of the most talked-about topics this week. Since the news broke, several stories have been published about the reason behind the split, many of which pointed to Offset's alleged infidelity. However, while on IG Live, Cardi B put the rumors to rest about why she wants a divorce. She said that there have been lingering issues between her and Offset and she's willing to end things before either of them decides to cheat.

According to TMZ, Cardi B will amend her divorce documents after learning how her legal team was positioning the split. The outlet reports that Cardi had no idea her lawyer filed documents that presented the dissolution of her and Offset's marriage as contentious. Cardi's lawyer filed for legal custody and primary physical custody but that will be amended to reflect her desire to set up a co-parenting situation where they have joint custody of 2-year-old Kulture.
Cardi is also not looking for child support as the original petition reflects and does not want any form of financial support from Offset.

According to E! News, Cardi B, and her legal team described the status of her marriage as "irretrievably broken" and that "there are no prospects for reconciliation." A source close to the situation told the outlet, "Cardi does not trust Offset. She's really tried for the last two years and has tried to forgive him. It's been hard for her since the last cheating scandal and there have been rumors of him being unfaithful again."
The insider added, "He has been pleading with her that he hasn't, but many girls have come forward with claims. She had enough and decided to file," and that Cardi "wants to be a good example for her daughter and women out there."
"They have been living together, parenting Kulture and seemed to be doing fine from an outsider's perspective," the source noted. The court documents also show that Cardi is requesting child support for the couple's daughter and hopes the divorce "will be settled by agreement of the parties."

Cardi B has filed paperwork in Georgia's Fulton County Superior Court to divorce her husband, Migos rapper Offset. A hearing for their divorce, which is contested, is set for Nov. 4, 2020, at 10 a.m. EST.
The two superstars were secretly wed in 2017 and went public with their marriage a year later. They share one daughter, Kulture, who is 2-years-old. Cardi and Offset went through a rough patch after getting hitched when rumors of Offset cheating on Cardi B surfaced. They reconciled and bought a huge mansion in Atlanta at the end of 2019.
