According to reports, a 24-year-old woman named Annabel Sen has filed a lawsuit against Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin for an incident she claims left her with brain injuries. Sen reportedly suffered injuries on January 25 after a chair fell from the 12th floor balcony of Rubin’s penthouse down to the street.
Police said the wooden chair fell from the balcony during a rainstorm after being swept off and hit the woman before flying into a parked car. The incident took place in Union Square in Manhattan, and resulted in the woman being hospitalized. Sen reportedly filed a lawsuit against Michael Rubin and GR Realty Holdings LLC for “severe, life-threatening, traumatic brain injury, among other injuries, that required emergency brain surgery.”
A spokesperson for Michael Rubin said “Michael Rubin has not lived in that apartment and did not live in the apartment as the apartment was rented to Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi at the time of the accident.” Sen is also suing Brown Harris Stevens Residential Management, LLC and the two penthouse residents previously named by Rubin’s spokesperson.” Stay tuned for more details on this situation.
