In this clip, Chaka Khan spoke with Luenell about her early days with music singing in the choir at her Catholic church and starting a group called the "Crystalettes." Chaka detailed being part of the Black Panthers as a teenager selling newspapers for the organization before operating her own projects for the group like a free breakfast program. Chaka also recounted an incident where she and some of her comrades jumped a police officer and she stole his gun.
