According to reports, the four officers involved in the murder of George Floyd reportedly are in fear for their safety. The four ex-officers have reportedly requested a change of venue for their trial because they are in fear of angry crowds.

A motion was filed by former officer Alexander Kueng on behalf of himself, Tou Thao, Derek Chauvin, and Thomas Lane. The motion reportedly pleaded to the court to move the trial out of the Hennepin County, citing a “dangerous situation” that the four men and their attorneys faced out of a hearing last month.

The man alleges that Tou Thao was followed for a few blocks by protesters after he left court. Kueng says that Thomas Lane was physical assaulted as a result as well. Along with that, Kueng asked for protection for the officer who put his knee in the neck of George Floyd for 8 minutes, resulting in the death of the unarmed black man. The claim says Chauvin faced “humiliation by being paraded in public dressed in jail clothes and body armor.” A judge has not ruled on the change of venue at this time.

Former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison was charged by a Jefferson County grand jury with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Hankison is only one of the three cops involved in the death of Breonna Taylor. The other two officers who fired shots were not charged, meaning no one has been charged for killing Taylor.

Hankison was fired from the police department more than three months after Taylor's death. In his termination letter to Hankison, Police Chief Robert Schroeder said Hankison violated standard operating procedure when his "actions displayed an extreme indifference to the value of human life" when he "wantonly and blindly fired ten rounds" into Taylor’s apartment.

"The result of your action seriously impedes the Department’s goal of providing the citizens of our city with the most professional law enforcement agency possible," Schroeder wrote. "I cannot tolerate this type of conduct by any member of the Louisville Metro Police Department. Your conduct demands your termination."

Ben Crump, the attorney for Breonna Taylor's family, tweeted his disappointment in the announcement.

"Jefferson County Grand Jury indicts former ofc. Brett Hankison with 3 counts of Wanton Endangerment in 1st Degree for bullets that went into other apartments but NOTHING for the murder of Breonna Taylor," Crump wrote. "This is outrageous and offensive!"

Hankison's bail has been set at $15,000. Wanton endangerment carries a maximum penalty of five years if convicted.
