Chaka Khan also recounted the drug scene during the 1970s/80s, specifically in Oakland. She reflected on the other artists who were engaged in the drug scene such as Charlie Wilson and Natalie Cole. However, Chaka said despite her dabbling in drugs, she never felt it affected her voice.
