According to reports, an RNC speaker named Amy Thorn was arrested for allegedly shooting a woman during an argument the two had this past Thursday. The 39-year-old RNC speaker is also a nurse out of West Virginia who traveled to Texas and New York City to help coronavirus patients during the height of the pandemic.
Thorn and a woman named Jonda Whitt were reportedly arguing when Thorn allegedly shot the woman in the abdomen. Thorn claims the shooting was self-defense. However, Williamson Police Chief Grady noted Thorn went to the car to get her gun after the argument. Thorn is facing malicious wounding charges and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. Whitt was taken to the hospital and had non-life-threatening injuries.
