Previously, when Lakers player Danny Green missed a crucial shot in Game 5 of the NBA finals against the Miami Heat, the shot was one reason the Lakers ended up having to face the Heat again in Game 6. However, the Lakers ended up winning and getting the championship. The missed shot caused much backlash for Green, though, with fans like Snoop Dogg taking to social media and calling out Green. Now, Green’s teammate Jared Dudley has called out Snoop for his comments.
While on the ‘Load Management’ podcast, Dudley said the backlash from fans was blown out of proportion. He said, “Now, the petition is low-key kinda funny. Like, really? Those aren’t true Laker fans, like Snoop Dogg calling out Danny Green and then when we win feeling good.”
Dudley went on to defend Green, saying, “Like this man Danny Green has won three championships on three different teams, being a starting shooting guard. Are we kidding? Like come on, man, like I agree, he missed a shot. He struggled at certain times, but the man is a career 40 (percent shooter).”
From there, Dudley said fans should attack the players’ character, citing Snoop and saying, “My only problem with that was you can’t call any man a b***h. All I’m thinking is when you come to that, now we go to something personal. And you know when you grow up, I don’t care how old you are, you hear that word, you automatically think you’re fighting. We are not fighting Snoop Dogg. He’s a fan.”
