New Yorker writer Jeffrey Toobin went viral on Monday (October 19) after it was revealed that he exposed himself while allegedly masturbating during a Zoom call last week. Toobin has since been suspended following the incident, but that didn't stop droves of people, including OJ Simpson, to weigh in on the situation. Toobin covered Simpson's 1995 murder trial extensively and turned his knowledge of the situation into a bestselling book and the FX miniseries "The People v. OJ Simpson."
OJ uploaded a video, where he stated, "Daaaaamn, Jeffrey Toobin. At least Pee-wee Herman was in an X-rated movie theater. I’m just saying." Simpson was referring to the 1991 arrest of actor Paul Reubens, who played the TV character Pee-wee Herman, for masturbating in a public theater.
Toobin, who also serves as a legal analyst on CNN, responded to the situation, telling Vice that he made an "embarrassingly stupid mistake." He added, "I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video."
