Update 10/30/2020 12:26pm:
Mike Tyson has engaged in a series of interviews to promote his upcoming exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. Aside from the upcoming fight, Tyson made headlines for his recent podcast episode with Boosie where he questioned the rapper over comments that some deemed homophobic and transphobic.
During an interview with TMZ, the former heavyweight champion explained that his daughter influenced to address the topic with Boosie.
"You know, I was Boosie at one time," Tyson stated. "My daughter flew all the way from New York City to L.A. California where I'm at just to be there, cause she thought Boosie was so disrespectful she had to confront him. Could you imagine that? I said 'who do you think you are, you can't confront my guest!' And she said, 'you gotta talk to him, this brother's disrespectful to the community.' So she came, and what they didn't show, was she confronted him. I was worried I would have to get angry, cause this is my baby, but he conducted himself like a gentleman and it went okay. It didn' go like I anticipated it to go. My daughter has a lot of courage and stuff."
Before speaking about his upcoming fight and his decision to return to the ring, Tyson expressed his love for Boosie and his desire to see the rapper continue to improve as a person.
"I love Boosie, Boosie is beautiful as far as I'm concerned," Tyson said. "It's just that, he gotta win that fight over those demons. He has to win, he can't give into them."

Boosie was the most recent guest on Mike Tyson's podcast, Hotboxin' With Mike Tyson. While the two covered various topics, Tyson was quick to ask Boosie about his controversial comments regarding transgenders and homosexuals.
After Boosie said his time in prison made him smarter and a better businessman, Tyson asked Boosie if he considers the feelings of others 3:50 into the interview. Boosie responded by acknowledging that he should stay silent on certain topics but he couldn't explain why he still chooses to make controversial statements.
Tyson detailed confronting his demons and carrying a bully-like persona before pressing Boosie further on his remarks regarding the LGBTQ community.
"Why do you say things about people who might be a homosexual?" Tyson asked. "Why do you say that about them? Do you feel there's a possibility that you're a homosexual and anybody that disrespects them, it furthers yourself from being a homosexual? I'm thinkin' you may like homosexuals...If you're straight then why do you offend people?"
Boosie clarified that he was talking about Dwayne Wade's 12-year-old child Zaya coming out as a transgender girl and stated that he wouldn't have said anything if Zaya was an adult.
"I really commented on the Dwyane Wade situation because I got offended because that's a child. That's really why I got offended," Boosie responded.
Tyson agreed with Boosie but added, "I agree with you, but check this out, who the f*** am I to say anything? What I think don't mean a mother****** thing...who the f*** are we to make a comment about somebody's life?"
Boosie responded by saying his mother told him the same thing before replying, "I said it and I stand on what I said."
