According to the Washington Post, the USPS "whistleblower" who sounded the alarm on vote tampering within the postal service recently admitted to lying about the entire thing and was paid upwards of $130K by GOP donors to carry it out. The postal worker, Richard Hopkins of Erie, PA, alerted federal officials of voting irregularities prompting U.S. Attorney General William Barr to launch an investigation into the matter.

By Monday, Hopkins told the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General that his claims were false and signed an official affidavit recanting his accusations. Hopkins's recanting comes as Trump has still yet to concede the election to President-Elect Joe Biden after securing the state of Pennsylvania last weekend.

The Washington Post tried to reach out to Hopkins but was unable to get a comment. However, Hopkins has since taken to YouTube where he says the WaPo story is itself false.

More information to come as this story develops.
