Michelle Obama took to Instagram recently and called out Donald and Melania Trump for their lack of behaving “maturely” when it comes to the transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden.
Michelle Obama held no punches, as she noted that she helped aid the transition of power to Trump despite the fact Trump “spread racist lies about my husband that had put my family in danger." Obama went on to say, “That wasn’t something I was ready to forgive. But I knew that, for the sake of our country, I had to find the strength and maturity to put my anger aside."
Michelle Obama then spoke on how Melania Trump hasn’t extended the same courtesy to Jill Biden that Obama did for her in 2017. Obama said, “I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do—because our democracy is so much bigger than anybody’s ego.” This comes after an administrator for the General Services Administration reportedly blocked the transition team for Joe Biden from accessing facilities and federal funds to set up the new administration in January 2021.
