After announcing that he was officially eligible for the NBA draft, rapper Sheck Wes revealed that he ultimately didn't get drafted this year. 

He reacted with an Instagram post that read, "29 TEAMS WILL REGRET THIS NIGHT. BACK TO THE GYM. BEEN BALLIN." Sheck then followed up with a tweet, where he stated that he'll be back for the "next draft." 

Before his rap career, Sheck reportedly played competitive basketball in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth league. He spoke about his basketball dreams in a 2018 interview with Pitchfork, where Sheck stated, "My whole life, I’ve always tried to be a star. That’s why I tried to do everything. I want to win Nobel Peace Prizes, as many Grammys as I can, Emmys, Golden Globes, VMAs, everything. I want to play in the NBA. I’m dead serious."

Sheck Wes announced on Instagram that he's officially eligible to be drafted by an NBA franchise. While the rapper skyrocketed to stardom after his hit single named after NBA center Mo Bamba, Wes pursued a basketball career before his achieving success as a rapper.

Reflecting on his journey to the NBA Draft, Sheck Wes shared images of his workouts and thanked everyone who was involved in getting him to this point.

Damn...it's really real, The 2020 NBA DRAFT, all my life I always wanted to follow my passion for music and basketball," Sheck Wes wrote in his caption. "Playing basketball and going to play pro in the @nba is something that I always strived for. Tonight that dream comes true! I want to thank the @nba for their hard work with growing the game and every team that gave me an opportunity to work out and talk with them. I also want to thank my team and my fans for always being there! TUNE IN TO THE 2020 NBA DRAFT tonight!!!!"

Sheck Wes, real name Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall, stands 6'2" tall with a 7'0" reach. The 2020 NBA Draft will air tonight (November 18) at 8 p.m. E.T.
