Texas high school football star Emmanuel Duron has been charged with assault after attacking an official during a game on Thursday night following his ejection from the contest. The 18-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily injury and had his bond set at $10,000.

A video from a high school football game in Texas has gone viral as it captures star athlete Emmanuel Duron's assault on an official just moments after being ejected from the game. The video picks up when the defensive lineman for Edinburg High is running toward the referee before laying him out with a vicious tackle. 

Police escorted Duron out of the stadium while the referee was carted off the field after sustaining a possible concussion and shoulder injury. Just before the attack, Duron was ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. 

Duron is the reigning District 31-6A Defensive Player of the Year and was slated to compete for the state championship in wrestling. No word yet on whether Duron will face any criminal charges.
