It seems as if COVID-19 has been affecting the walks of the entertainment industry heavily. Recently, news surfaced that Jeremih was out of the hospital after a near-death experience with COVID-19. Now, news surfaced noting that Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. member Ganxsta Ridd has passed away from coronavirus.

Via Twitter, Ice-T revealed the news, saying, “I just woke up to the terrible news. My very close homie ‘Gangsta Rid’ of Boo-Yaa Tribe passed away yesterday from Covid… so sad. My love and condolences go out to the family.” For those unaware, Ganxsta Ridd was a part of the first Samoan hip hop group--Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., and made an impact with the group’s music as a way of looking to escape the harsh realities of gang culture. It was noted that Ridd and his brother served as security for Eminem at one point and even prevented LA Crips from extorting Eminem. Condolences to the family and friends of Ridd.
