Update 12/11/2020 11:56am:

Chicago singer Ann Marie, real name Joann Marie Slater, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony after her longtime friend was shot inside of an Atlanta hotel on December 1. Records show Ann Marie also faces a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a separate incident last month.

An incident report from the night Ann Marie called 911 about the shooting revealed that police arrived to the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel to find 24-year-old Jonathan Wright lying at the foot of the bed with a gunshot wound to his forehead. Wright was reported to be "somewhat responsive" when police arrived, and he was having trouble staying conscious due to the amount of blood lost.

Ann Marie told police that a .40-caliber handgun fell off the bed or dresser, and a round was discharged, hitting Wright in the head. Authorities found two shell casings inside the hotel room - one at the bathroom door and another at the foot of the bed. A bullet was found on the carpet near the bathroom door and officers noticed bullet holes in the door jamb and bathroom cabinet.

Reports show Ann Marie was released from the Fulton County Jail shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday on a $60,000 signature bond. She is required to wear an ankle monitor and she must remain on house arrest with the exception of pre-approved work and legal obligations. She is also prohibited from contacting Wright or his family. Wright's condition has not been revealed after he arrived at Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition on December 1.
