R. Kelly's child pornography case is set to go to trial in September 2021, after being delayed due to the coronavirus. U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber confirmed the date but added that it's not set in stone due to the unpredictability of the pandemic.
R. Kelly is charged with child pornography and obstruction of justice. The singer is accused of bribing a key witness with a six-figure payment and gifts during his 2008 case. Former managers Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown are also charged in the case.
As previously reported, R. Kelly's sex trafficking and racketeering case in New York is set to go to trial in April 2021. His child pornography case is scheduled to begin on September 13, 2021.
