Recently, Trump’s Deputy National Security Adviser—Matthew Pottinger, told politicians that China’s leaders openly admitted that the claims they previously made about coronavirus originating in Wuhan are false. Pottinger said, “There is a growing body of evidence that the lab is likely the most credible source of the virus.” The adviser said the “evidence” points to a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

During a Zoom conference with MPs located in China this past week, Pottinger claimed the COVID-19 pathogen escaped via a “leak or accident.” News of this surfaced as World Health Organization experts are set to fly to Wuhan in order to investigate the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to reports, Pottinger allegedly said, “Even establishment figures in Beijing have openly dismissed the wet market story,” which is in reference to a theory that COVID-19 was transmitted from animals to humans in a Wuhan wildlife market.
