Josh Jacobs, the Las Vegas Raiders' Pro Bowl running back, was arrested on Monday (January 4) for a DUI after crashing his car near the McCarran Airport Connector around 4 am. This was just hours after the Raiders celebrated their season-ending victory in Denver against the Broncos.
Police who responded to the scene suspected impairment and transported Jacobs to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. After being treated, he was transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
Jacobs' attorneys David Z. Chesnoff and Richard A. Schonfeld released a statement on the incident, which reads, "No complaint has been filed against our client and there are no blood test results to support a suggestion of impairment. We intend to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of Mr. Jacobs if he is ever charged."
Raiders coach Jon Gruden also commented, stating, "We're just aware of it. I will say that Josh is OK and I'm not at liberty to comment on it until I get more facts. But we do have word that Josh is OK and we are looking into the matter."
