The Houston Rockets have traded James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets following last night's post-game press conference where the disgruntled star said his situation in Houston could not be fixed. The blockbuster trade also involves the Indiana Paces and Cleveland Cavaliers.
In addition to three unprotected first-round draft picks (2022, 2024, and 2026) and four pick swaps (2021, 2023, 2025, and 2027), the Nets sent Houston Rodions Kurucs and Caris LeVert, who was traded to the Pacers for two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo. The Rockets will also receive Cleveland's 2022 first-round pick.
Brooklyn's center Jarrett Allen and forward Taurean Prince were traded to the Cavs in the deal, while the Rockets received Cleveland guard Dante Exum.
After rejecting a $50 million annual salary from the Rockets during the offseason, the Nets were listed as Harden's preferred destination. As a member of the Brooklyn Nets, James Harden will be reunited with former Oklahoma City teammate Kevin Durant, further establishing the team as a title contender.
