Following the news that former President Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black's sentence, the Florida rapper took to Twitter to thank 45 for the clemency.

"I Want To Thank The President @RealDonaldTrump For His Commitment To Justice Reform And Shortening My Sentence," wrote Kodak. "I Also Want To Thank Everyone For Their Support And Love. It Means More Than You Will Ever Know. I Want To Continue Giving Back, Learning And Growing. @DanScavino."

Despite Kodak's impending freedom, prosecutors in South Carolina are hoping to detain him upon his release. Kodak is facing a sexual assault charge in South Carolina stemming from an alleged hotel incident in 2016. While Kodak's federal troubles may be over after Trump's commutation, the state-level crimes are still in play to be prosecuted.
