MeidasTouch, an American political action committee, has parked a jumbotron outside of the U.S. Senate to call for Donald Trump to be convicted "immediately."
The video played on the jumbotron shows footage from the rioters storming the U.S. Capitol earlier this month, calling it a "terrorist attack." Donald Trump is also seen in one clip telling the rioters that he "loves" them and that they're "very special."
This comes amid reports of Republicans arguing that trying a former president is unconstitutional. On Tuesday (January 26), 45 Senate Republicans voted to dismiss the trial as unconstitutional, which failed by a vote of 45-55, enabling the trial to move forward. The recent vote won't necessarily depict the final outcome, as some senators who voted to dismiss haven't ruled out a conviction.
