Crooked I excited many fans earlier this month when he posted a photo of himself next to Dr. Dre and DJ Silk. Unsurprisingly, fans wondered if the trio worked on any music and if it would be released. During an Instagram Live session, DJ Silk offered some hope by playing a snippet of Dr. Dre and Crooked I collab.
The snippet features the signature associated with Dre's production. In addition, Dre's verse provides a hint that the song is recent as the west coast legend is heard addressing his impending divorce and recent brain aneurysm.
"Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury / I see you trying to f*** me while I'm in surgery," Dre is heard rapping in the snippet. "In ICU, death bed, on some money s*** / Greedy b****, take a pick, girl you know how money get."
After Dre raps, "You know we don't tolerate that nonsense / By any means get your hand up out my pocket / This life is private just like the pilot / It's been decided, this the Poseidon," Crooked I comes in on the hook and proceeds to spit his verse.
Dr. Dre has not responded DJ Silk's preview or indicated if the song will receive an official release. Dre has not released a project since 2015's Compton.
